Nightly Skincare Routine

I recently posted my morning skincare routine and had a lot of fun sharing that with you guys. So, I thought I would also share my nightly skincare routine! Like my morning routine, the products I use change frequently, but the products listed below are never too far out of reach. In comparison to my morning routine, my nightly products are a lot stronger because they repair my skin while I sleep. Lastly, just so you know, I have a fairly normal skin type without any kind of sensitivities.

So, without further ado, allow me to show you my nightly skincare routine!

This product is one of my favorite cleansers to use because it doubles as a gentle exfoliator, safe enough to use every day. It contains pumpkin, papaya and pineapple enzymes which basically slough off dead skin cells. Plus, due to the exfoliating benefits, this cleanser also helps maintain smooth skin. In all, this product leaves your skin feeling clean, yet not too tight or dry. I recommend this cleanser to anyone because it's just a great, effective product!

If you have not tried this exfoliator yet, do so now! Seriously, this product is amazing! It has a really nice warming effect when you first put it on which turns into a cooling effect as you scrub it on your face. This guy is a powerhouse of glycolic and lactic acids as well as volcanic ash to give it a little bit of a gritty texture. So, if you want your skin to feel baby-soft, you must try this product—it’s my favorite exfoliator of all time! I would say this product will work a little better for people who have combination to oily skin types, as it does help remove excess oil. Yet, if you’re like me and also have a normal skin type, don’ t be afraid to try this exfoliator because it does not dry out your skin too much.
I became introduced to this product after seeing a BuzzFeed article dubbing this as the mask you need to try in the New Year. I normally do not trust BuzzFeed for anything, but something prompted me to buy this mask ASAP. Of course, I looked at reviews before I bought it, which only confirmed BuzzFeed’s article. So, I bought it…

Basically, you use this mask for five days in a row followed by just a couple times a per week. After using it for the initial five days, I already found that my pores looked tighter. Even Kody, who never notices these things, mentioned that my skin looked smoother. Herbivore is a super natural line with really healthy ingredients for the skin. For example, this mask contains willow bark: a natural form of salicylic acid, aloe leaf to decongest pores, pineapple and papaya enzymes to smooth the skin and blue tansy: a natural inflammatory ingredient that also helps calm redness and soothe the skin. I would say anyone with normal to oily skin can use this product. Be warned, though, because it has a slight tingly feeling when you put it on, letting you know it’s working.

These two products are my nightly moisturizers, which I usually alternate between. Both contain retinol to maintain the skin and help with any pore concerns or breakouts. The Kate Somerville RetAsphere contains the retinol in a lipid, so it is more soothing and non-irritating. It also contains hyaluronic acid, which helps to hydrate the skin. Comparatively, the RetAsphere Micro Peel is that times 10. Besides containing the retinol, it also has 10-percent glycolic acid and lactose, which help to resurface the skin. Personally,  this product significantly helped with my acne scaring. I would recommend both of these moisturizers for any skin type since they hydrate and will not dry you out.

Aging around my eye area is such a fear of mine. I know that probably sounds silly, but I want my skin to look as good as it can for as long as it can! This product uses a time-release retinol to help fight signs of aging as well as a ruby crystal complex to help soften lines. I love this eye cream because it uses antioxidants to help prevent environmental skin stressors and to nourish the skin. Again, I would say any skin type could benefit from this eye cream.

Well, there you have it: my nightly skincare routine. If you want to know more about any of these products, or have any skincare questions in general, please feel free to ask me! I love nerding out about ingredients and skincare in general, so I’d love to chat.

What is your nightly skincare routine? Have you tried any of these products? If you couldn’t live without one skincare product, what would it be? Mine would be this blue tansy mask!
