My Morning Skincare Routine

Today I’m going to talk about one of my passions: skincare. In my recent morning routine post, I promised a separate post on my morning skincare routine. I love trying new products and my skincare routine constantly changes. Of course, though, the products I will talk about today are in my current rotation. Before I dive in, let me first explain the objective of my skincare routine: I want to prevent signs of aging and get rid of some acne scaring. Additionally, I have a pretty normal skin type leaning slightly towards combination. So, now, let me walk you through my morning skincare routine.
I swear by these pads! Prior to using them, I had a lot of breakouts, but I only get them occasionally now. The pads contain two-percent salicylic acid and 10-percent glycolic acid. That combination of ingredients will not only clean your skin, but also help get rid of acne and minimize the appearance of pores. Since I am not a huge fan of washing my face in the sink in the morning, I love how quick and easy these are to use: every morning I take one pad and just buff it all over my face you don’t even have to rinse them off! I highly recommend these to everyone, especially those with acne prone skin.
Besides being something I want displayed on my counter all the time (just look at the rose petals inside!), this is also a great toner. This product has rosewater and rose flower oil in it to calm and soothe skin while the hyaluronic acid in it locks in hydration. Plus, it also removes surface debris from the face, slightly cleansing your skin. I love using this in the morning because the smell of the rose is enough to wake me up and get me ready for my dayit’s so calming. I use about a nickel-sized amount and simply press it into my skin. This toner works best on really any skin type especially those looking for a boost of hydration.
Next, I use a product that has been around for years and was one of Shiseido’s first products. However, essences just recently became more popular in the States. Basically, this product deeply hydrates the skin. Additionally, though, it helps skin act as a sponge to better draw in the other products you put on top. I love this product because it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. A little goes such a long way since the texture of it is water-like. Again, I use about a nickel-sized amount and, press it into my skin. This essence is for anyone and everyone.
Overall, this serum gives your skin a firm, contoured look. It is formulated with Caudalie’s patented ingredient: vine resveratrol, which helps with firmness. It also has micro hyaluronic acid to add plumpness. Using this product gives me a healthy appearance, while also clearing up a lot of my acne scaring. Simply put, this serum causes your skin cells to turn over faster, meaning you get newer skin sooner as a result. With this product, I use a dime-sized amount and press it into my skin. This serum works best on any skin type but specifically people looking for a good anti-age product to maintain your skin.
This cream is similar to the toner since it has the same rosewater and rose flower oil for soothing and calming as well as the hyaluronic acid for deep hydration. Also, this product has time-release technology, so it keeps you hydrated all day long. This is more of a gel cream, meaning it isn’t super heavy. Therefore, I never feel too greasy or bogged down by it, making it perfect for a day cream. Again, I use a nickel-sized amount and press it into my skin. This cream works best on dry to combination skin types.
Vitamin C is often called the BLT of skincare because it helps brighten, lighten and tighten the skin. Boy, does this eye cream live up to those standards. I am a perpetual eye rubber, which causes me to worry about forming signs of aging around my eye area sooner than expected. So, the Vitamin C in this product certainly helps firm my skin, easing that concern. Plus, this eye cream also helps me look more awake and well-rested, erasing the dark circles under my eyes. For this product, I use a pea-sized amount and pat it into my orbital bone (the bone directly under your eye socket. Take your finger and feel for it—it will go 360 degrees around your eye.) using my ring finger. This eye cream works best on anyone looking for a good eye brighter with anti age benefits.
I am obsessed with using a sunscreen. In fact, I use one every day no matter what I’m doing because it is the most important step in my opinion. I could preach about this all day long, but in short, you want to use a sunscreen every day (even on days it’s not sunny or you’re not outside) because there are always UVA UVB rays around: lights give them off; your phone gives them off; even your computer gives them off. This sunscreen is particularly nice because it is incredibly lightweight. Also, it has a slight tint, so it’s easy to blend. I use slightly more than a nickel-sized amount for this product and, again, press it into my skin. This sunscreen works best on any skin type.
So, that’s my morning skincare routine! I consider myself to be a skincare junkie because I love trying out new products and, like I said, my routine constantly changes. Since these overviews are brief, let me know if you want any additional information on some of these products—I would love to help you!
What is your morning skincare routine? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned?
